Green Circle Salons keep people AND our planet beautiful
Rejuvenation Spa is beginning a comprehensive recycling / reuse program that will help to significantly reduce our environmental impact on the planet. If you’re not already familiar with them, Green Circle Salons is a small company with BIG ideas. Their goal: to make the salon industry sustainable. With participation growing from salons nationwide, together we are surely making a difference. When we first learned of this concept, we didn’t hesitate to sign on. To be able to keep items from our daily operations out of landfills is exactly the kind of movement we want to be a part of! Items that we used to deem wasteful like hair, foils, and color tubes, are now sorted in-house and picked up by GCS for recycling. They’ve re-used their hair for things like cleaning up oil spills and the foils/color tubes are readily repurposed into other materials. The program also gives us the resources to properly dispose of chemicals rather than rinsing them down the drain.
Here at Rejuvenation Spa we want to leave the smallest possible footprint on our environment. In a notoriously wasteful industry, it’s very important to us to support the most environmentally friendly salon practices. A $1.50 Environmental Stewardship Fee will be added to all services as a contribution to the success of this program.
Through our membership with Green Circle Salons, we’ve committed to a collective waste-reduction initiative. How do we do it? Throughout the salon we have several bins provided by Green Circle Salons, into which we separate and place waste and recyclables like hair cuttings, color tubes, foils, lids, spray cans, lightbulbs, batteries, plastics, and other materials.
