10 Sep Apprentice Journal: Week 10 – Sharpening Skills with Color, Cuts, and Updos

This week was all about continuing to build confidence with my guests and refining techniques I’ve been practicing. I worked on several new growth color applications, focusing on achieving seamless blending and natural-looking results. I also continued to strengthen my skills with haircuts and blowouts, making sure each guest left with a polished, finished look that suited their style.

Since we’re right in the middle of homecoming season, I spent more time practicing updos on mannequins. From French twists to bun variations, I focused on clean sectioning, secure pinning, and adding details like twists and braids to make the styles feel special. Each week, I can feel my foundation growing stronger, and it’s exciting to see how much progress I’ve made since starting this journey.
