December 7 and 8, Rejuvenation Spa's Effort Benefits Locks of Love and American Cancer Society
Anyone who wishes to donate their hair should call Rejuvenation Spa to make an appointment on the days of December 7th or 8th, and should note that they will be donating their hair to Locks of Love. Clients will be charged the normal price for the cut, will all money gained to benefit American Cancer Society. This event will benefit Locks of Love, a public non-profit organization that provides vacuum fitted hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated human hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. The prostheses provided help to restore self-esteem and confidence, enabling these children to face the world and their peers. Donated hair is evaluated for its usefulness according to the following guidelines: - It must me at least 10', clean and dry
- It must be bundled in a ponytail or a braid
- Bleached hair CANNOT be used
- Hair that has been dyed or permed CAN be used
This event will also benefit American Cancer Society, the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
